An AI readiness audit shows whether and how your business appears when potential customers use AI tools to research services, compare providers or ask for recommendations. We sell an AI readiness audit for $100.
The audit looks at
If you are trying to decide whether this is worth your money, this post should give you enough information to make that decision.
An AI readiness audit assesses how visible your business is to AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and identifies what you can do to improve that visibility. It cannot test every possible question or predict what every user will see. Results can change with prompt wording, location, personalisation, platform updates and time, so the score is a benchmark rather than a permanent measure.
What it is:
What it is not:
ZilvaEdge offers three Website Audit tiers. The $100 Foundations tier focuses on AI readiness. The $125 Growth and $150 Transformation tiers add broader SEO, content, technical and brand analysis. This article covers the Foundations tier only.
This is the core of the audit. We build a set of prompts that mirror how your potential customers would ask AI platforms about your services. These cover three categories:
We run the prompts across all four platforms and record whether the business is mentioned, how prominently it appears, what information is shown and whether the website is cited.
We check whether your website has schema markup that helps AI platforms understand your business. This includes LocalBusiness schema, Service schema, FAQ schema, and any industry-specific markup. We note what is present, what is missing, and what is implemented incorrectly.
We assess whether the website clearly explains the service, audience, location and expertise behind it. We also look for original information, evidence, clear authorship and direct answers to customer questions. The aim is not to hit a fixed word count. It is to identify thin or generic content and show where more detail would genuinely help.
We check the consistency and completeness of your business entity information across your website, Google Business Profile, and major directories. AI platforms need to clearly understand what your business is, where it operates, and what it offers. Inconsistencies weaken your entity signal.
We assess whether other authoritative sources reference your business. This includes directory listings, industry association memberships, media mentions, and links from credible websites. These signals tell AI platforms that your business is recognised and trusted within your field.
The AI visibility score is ZilvaEdge’s internal benchmarking model. It is not an official score supplied by ChatGPT, Google, Perplexity, Anthropic or any other platform. It summarises the results of the tested prompts using three weighted components.
| Component | Weight | What It Measures |
|---|---|---|
| Mention Rate | 40% | How often AI platforms mention your business when answering relevant prompts |
| Position | 35% | How prominently your business appears when it is mentioned |
| Source Citation | 25% | Whether the AI cites your website as a source for its information |
The composite score falls into one of five bands:
| Score | Rating | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| 80-100 | Strong | AI platforms consistently recommend your business |
| 60-79 | Moderate | You appear in some responses but not consistently |
| 40-59 | Developing | Occasional mentions but significant gaps |
| 20-39 | Weak | Rarely mentioned, mostly invisible to AI |
| 0-19 | Invisible | AI platforms do not mention your business at all |
Most businesses we audit score between Weak and Developing. That is not because they are bad businesses — it is because most websites were not built with AI visibility in mind. The score gives you a clear baseline to improve from.
The Foundations audit report typically runs 25 to 40 pages and covers ten sections:
Each recommendation explains why it matters, what needs to change and how progress can be checked.
To give you an idea, here are the types of recommendations that typically appear. Note that these vary depending on the business.
The recommendations are specific to your business, your industry, and your current website. They are not generic checklists.

Not the right fit (yet):
If you are unsure, the $100 price point is deliberately low so that the decision is not a difficult one. You get a clear picture of where you stand, and you can decide what to do with that information.
This is the part where you might expect us to say “and then you obviously need our strategy service.” But honestly, there are three outcomes.
1. You act on the recommendations yourself. The report gives you everything you need to improve your AI visibility independently. If you have the time and capability to implement structured data, create content, and manage your online presence, you can do it without us.
2. You use the audit to inform a broader strategy. Some businesses use the Foundations audit as the starting point for a Website Strategy (from $500), which covers content planning, keyword research, competitor analysis, and a full implementation roadmap. The audit findings feed directly into the strategy.
3. You do nothing. Maybe the audit shows you are already in reasonable shape, or maybe the timing is not right for investment. The audit has value as a baseline regardless. You can revisit it in six months and measure your progress.
There is no pressure to buy anything else. The audit is a standalone product that delivers value on its own.
